This next rotation of “Art of the Quilter” features a selection of American quilts representing a variety of techniques, colors, and materials. Included is a woven coverlet by 19th-century weaver Harry Tyler, best known for corner blocks featuring his distinctive lion motif. Other highlights include a stunning quilt made up of thousands of precisely cut hexagons and a prize winning “Sunburst” quilt in which each of the sunbursts consist of 288 diamond-shaped fabric pieces. All of the quilts express the imaginative artistic impulses and skill of its maker(s).
