Two square arms protrude down to the fence and sit in dados secured with riveted pins that have square washers on the top. The arms run through mortises in the plane body adjusted with wooden thumbscrews threaded through the top. A decorative cove molding is on the underside of the fence and the inner top edge is rabbeted to receive the plane body. An adjustable tomb-stone depth stop in the forestock is controlled by a wooden thumbscrew threaded through the side of the body. The top and side edges of the body have narrow flat chamfers that terminate with lamb’s tongue cuts on the far side and stop at the cove molding above the skate on the discharge side.
