DescriptionEmbroidered quilt: oval center medallion, quarter-medallions or sprandrels, and double borders all feature Asian women with umbrellas, exotic birds with bright plumage, flower sprigs, and flowering shrubs worked in colored silks through cotton interlining (pink, rose, cerise, mauve, lavender, cream, yellow, gold, tan, brown, and evidence of deteriorated black), in chain, stem, and satin stitches on all-over small diamond-quilted, white tabby-woven linen ground; quilting in cream colored silks in back-stitch; quilted to coarse cotton interlining.
