DescriptionAppearance: Corner table with one drop leaf; triangular-shaped top with leaf down, becomes square with leaf open; straight skirts; four turned straight legs terminating in pad feet on inverted trumpet-shaped disc; one leg swings-out to form support for leaf; top of table hinged to frame as well as to drop leaf; hinges allow top to be lifted up to give access to an interior compartment formed by the table frame and a bottom nailed to the underside of the skirts.

Construction: Side rails tenoned and pegged to corner leg; squared corners at top of corner leg chamfered; side rails half-blind dovetailed to front fixed rail; dovetailed corner joints set into notches in the tops of the outer front legs and are slightly rounded at the end to conform to leg shape; front rail nailed with five rosehead nails to longer fixed portion of swing rail; fixed ends of swing rail tenoned and pegged to outer front legs; short fixed section of swing rail (by swing leg) possibly also glued to fixed front rail; swing portion of swing rail tenoned and pegged to swing leg and joined to fixed portion of rail with a rounded knuckle joint; top of swing leg notched to fit around front rail when closed.

Bottom board chamfered slightly around edges and nailed to underside of rails.

Tops each composed of two butt joined boards; tops have rule joint along edges and are hinged to each other with three iron butt hinges (outer two hinges original); hinges have sides of unequal length, the longer of which is screwed to the leaf, the shorter to the top seated on the frame; the latter top is attached with two original butt hinges (also with sides of unequal length) to the front rail, the longer to the top, the shorter to the rail.
