DescriptionSwage with a long square-section shank and a rectangular head cut with a "V" shaped groove running down its center.
Label TextMounted in the hardie hole of the anvil, this stout swage is cut with a simple “V” shaped slot which corresponds to the spine found on most 18th century bayonet blades. Similar swages could have been used at the Armoury to hammer bent bayonet blades straight.
