Label TextPattern books and trade catalogues provide a unique glimpse into the world of goods in the 18th and 19th centuries. They shed light on manufacturing techniques, period object terminology, and buying and selling from the perspective of manufacturers, retailers, and consumers. This Leeds Pottery Pattern Book relates directly to ceramic objects in Colonial Williamsburg's collection marked by the Leeds Pottery and helps us identify unmarked objects as products of that manufactory. The book is not only a wonderful graphic resource, it is also a window into the consumer revolutions of the 18th and early 19th centuries.
