Charles-Town the Metropolis of ye Province of South Carolina, is pleasantly Situated between Cooper & Ashley Rivers, which form a Spacious & convenient Harbour, & lieth in 32 52' of N. L. and 78 , 45' W. L. from London."
Label TextThis most famous and rare print of Charleston is based on the watercolor by Bishop Roberts also in Colonial Williamsburg's collection (1956-103). It is the typical town view; that is the water to the fore and town to the rear with the usual variety of boats to be seen. A complete guide to the numbered buildings is printed underneath.
