DescriptionCoat sized for a boy of brown cut and uncut velvet in a striped pattern. Collarless coat has cutaway front, closing with 10 copper alloy metal buttons, plated. Slim sleeves curved over the elbows, ending in untrimmed cuffs. Shaped pocket flaps with functional silk faced and linen pockets. Back has center vent and deep pleats.
Markings"John Davis" on buttons: Stamped, rolled over a backing; possibly period.
