Label TextMatthew Boulton, in partnership with John Fothergill, established the Soho Manufactury in Birmingham, producing jewelry, silver, fused silverplate, and decorative metalware on an unprecedented scale using modern technologies like steam-driven machinery. The design for this fused silverplate candlestick survives in the firm’s pattern books.
