DescriptionWoman's shoe fashioned of black silk satin with self binding at edges. Shoe is constructed with latchets across slightly pointed central tongue for fastening with a removable buckle. Shoes have blunt toes and slender silk-covered "Italian" heels. Lined with natural linen at the interior. On the quarters at interior on either side is a small inked mark in the shape of a triangle with a small loop at the top point, possibly an "8" with a very flat top. The lining of the vamp has "4/4" in dark ink and another mark on the lining at the left side of the tongue could be initials (RN or BN?)

2. Unknown Date: Latchets stitched down at center with black thread
3. UnknownDate: 3" split along back heel stitched to repair shoe.
MarkingsOn the quarters at interior on either side is a small inked mark in the shape of a triangle with a small loop at the top point. The lining of the vamp has "4/4" in dark ink and another mark on the lining at the left side of the tongue could be initials (RN or BN?)
