Label TextSeven cat jugs made from several different molds are recorded. They bear the dates 1657, 1659, 1669, 1671, 1672, 1674, and 1676, respectively. Although the later ones, particularly that dated 1672, are technically different sorts of containers, they are primarily seen as figures and cataloged as such. Fragments from a jug of this type have been excavated near Williamsburg at the seventeenth-century Drummond site at Governor's Land. The London attribution is based on the early date and the coloration.
