DescriptionHanging cupboard: Triangular cupboard with open shelf area above formed by upward extension of backboards shaped in serpentine manner on edge. Single quarter circle shelf near top. Recessed top of cupboard forms seconds shelf. Flat-faced cupboard with canted corners and single door with central fielded panel swinging on original butterfly hinges. Remnants of ivory-colored paint (not original).MarkingsNone found.
ProvenanceOn July 11, 1966, Mr. Bozarth commented that the cupboard came from the Haines family of Clover, Halifax County, Virginia, but on July 20, 1966 he said that it came from the Duwell House which is between Charlotte Court House and Randoph, Charlotte County, Virginia.
