DescriptionAppearance: Desk with fall front above four graduated drawers; top drawer flanked by full height lopers; case rests on four straight bracket feet with shaped wings; feet originally supported on vertical blocks; ovolo base molding; case drawers have molded lip and brasses; fall board has side and top batten construction and escutcheon; desk interior has rectangular prospect door over shallow drawer, flanked on each side by two narrow compartments with shaped brackets and dividers situated over a deep drawer, flanked in turn by a wide compartment with shaped brackets and dividers situated over two shallow drawers; shape of brackets mimics design of front feet and base molding; the latter having a small notch carved in the lower edge of the center.

Woods: primary wood: black walnut; secondary woods: yellow pine (desk interior drawer sides, case drawer bottoms, foot blocking), and white oak (desk interior drawer bottoms, case drawer sides, lid supports).
