Label TextA street scene depicting various noises and musical instruments, all taking place under the window of a musician. He is in the window with hands up to both ears, holding a fiddle and bow, trying to shut out the noise. Below in the street are a ballad singer holding a crying baby, two small children, a girl with a noise maker, a boy in the act of relieving himself; a man playing a hautboy, a girl with a milk pail crying her wares; a boy with a drum, another with a dog barking; and a boy blowing a cow horn among others. A sign is posted on the musician's house for a performance of the Beggar's Opera.
