DescriptionSilver cream cream pot, jug, with plain pear-shaped body on three short cabriole legs terminating in trifed feet. Rim with scalloped edge and wide everted pouring lip; cast broken-scroll handle with acanthus leaf grip
InscribedEngraved on base of one foot in threaded block letters "G/I M"
MarkingsStruck in relief on bottom of body: 1) leopard's head crowned; 2) lion passant; 3) date letter "L" for 1766-67; and 4) sponsor's mark "D•M" in rectangle with divits for David Mowden [Grimwade 1990 # 487]
