Description"MADEIRA" Bottle ticketLabel TextThe Phipps family, like the Batemans, produced a large number of handsome and well-executed bottle tickets in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Most of these are in the neoclassical taste, often, as in this instance, with bright-cut borders. This example of scroll form and CWF accession 1971-92 of goblet and crescent form are common late eighteenth-century types.
