A Scottish émigré cabinetmaker, Walker worked primarily in King George County, Virginia, on the Rappahannock River. Most other objects that fall within this shop group have histories of ownership in the counties on either side of the Rappahannock. See also CWF accessions 1938-199, 1951-205, and 1976-95.
