Label TextPortrait of George Augustus, Prince of Wales (1683-1760) and future King George II of England, Great Britain after a portrait by Sir Godfrey Kneller. He became King in 1727 upon the death of his father and was the second monarch from the House of Hanover. He reigned until his death in 1760.
