DescriptionSmall ornamented hanging ring on tall arched bracket with four scrolled and ornamented members with pendant husk at top below ring; oval bezel with ribbed face housing grey agate seal engraved with armorial of Amherst impaling Cary within collar of the Order of the Bath with supporters at sides, motto below, and baron's cornet above.
Label TextThis watch seal was owned by Jeffrey Amherst (1717–1797), commander-in-chief of the British Army in North America from 1758–1764 and governor of Virginia from 1759–1764.
