DescriptionA half-length portrait of a small child in a belted green dress. The child has dark, short, touseled hair and leans over, resting its head on crossed arms supported by a tasseled cushion.

Possibly original 2-inch refinished cyma recta frame with 1-inch
Label TextA lithograph published by Currier & Ives titled "Georgie, Quite Tired" is the source for this picture [note 1]. The unidentified artist has personalized this version, however, substituting a fringed, floral-patterned upholstered form in place of the bolster decorated with a rosette and tassel shown in the print. The artist also changed the subtitle to wording more characteristic of a child's vocabulary, "I tired" [note 2].
Inscribed"I Tired" is written in script and underlined at the lower right corner.
ProvenanceFound in New Hampshire, and acquired by Abby Aldrich Rockefeller from Edith Gregor Halpert, Downtown Gallery, New York, NY, September 30, 1931, for use at Bassett Hall, the Williamsburg home of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller Jr. Given to the C.W.F. in 1979.
