DescriptionSix mounted soldiers ride in pairs in a row. The soldiers wear yellow tall hats with wooden plumes. They wear blue jackets with red collars and white breast pieces, and white pants. The horses are painted brown. The six are attached to a rectangular box that is covered in patterned paper on the sides. On each corner of the top of the box is a small cone-shaped wood-shaving tree. The back legs of each horse rest in a round hole in the top of the box and connect to pieces of wood in the box. When the crank on the front of the box is turned, the horses move up and down in tandem. As the front legs hit the hollow box, they make a noise like the galloping of horses.
