DescriptionMan's handkerchief: block & plate printed linen in red with central oval framing a standing portrait of "The Right Honourable LORD GEORGE GORDON, President of the Protestant Association," and a coat of arms with a stag on top and flanked by greyhounds with motto "ANIMO NON ASTUTI." Lord Gordon is holding a petition that reads "The Protestant Petition/Patne Nonon? Timothy Relmis? J. Bontington? Will Pline? Charle Mill? Moses Jonte on? George Don? Samue l Tonts J'D?" Inscription underneath frame: "He is the 3 son of COSMO GEORGE late D of Gordon with unexampled Resolution he appeared in Parl't almost the only friend of the Protestant Cause at first He knew not whether he would be seconded by a single person but soon became an Instrument to let the World know what mu ltitudes of Protestants were determined to stand or fall with their Religious Priviledges His NAME will be remembered with pleasure wile there are Protestants in Britain."
