DescriptionPocketbook with 2 compartments needleworked with roumanian, stem, and satin stitches on wool tabby. Bright pink glazed wool lining over cardboard; trimmed with black wool tape binding. Embroidery features a bowl of flowers (upside down) which was apparently once another object, later made into pocketbook.
ProvenanceEx Coll: Mrs. Jason Westerfield-- Paper label inside: "From Charlotte W. Hardy (dealer) Brewer, Me." Loose note in Mrs. Westerfield's hand: "Mary Fletcher family, Burlington, VT.", however, this note may not necessarily apply to this object.
