DescriptionCabriole leg with acanthus carved knee and ball and claw foot; mortise and tenon joints originally pinned; upholstery peak intact. Leg was originally part of a square or rectangul ar stool.
ProvenanceStool was broken at an early date, perhaps in the nineteenth century, and fragment was placed in the attic at Blandfield, home of the Beverley family of Essex County, Virginia. Fragment was recovered from the attic by Coloni al Williamsburg staff when the house was sold out of the family in 1983.
