DescriptionCommode pot; inverted bell-shaped body with curved rim of moderate width with single-reeded molded edge; three groups of three incised lines encircling body at even intervals; short convex foot with molded edge; uninscribed as to owner.
Label TextTapered pots with flaring rims were intended to fit frames with large circular openings in commode chairs and stools.

Pseudo hallmarks (1) apparent arms with per chevron three griffin's heads erased, (2) crest of a griffin's head erased on a wreath bar, (3) radiant sun or star, and (4) "B&V" with device below, each within an outlined shield, on upper face below rim (Cotterell 430; Homer and Hall 6).
