DescriptionShowcase; rectangular case with slanted, glazed lid; rear of case is taller than front of case; case is dovetailed at front corners but not at rear; front and proper right side are tulip poplar, all other woods (except possibly base molding) are yellow pine; ogee molding applied around base of case, front, sides and rear; front and sides of case are solid wood; rear of case comprised of a mortise and tenon framework with three rectangular glass panes divided by molded muntins; top of case comprised of a mortise and tenon frame with twelve rectangular glass panes (three rows of four) divided by molded muntins; top of case is hinged at front edge; one narrow strip of wood is screwed on the inside face of each side at the top near the rear; the strips can rotate to hold the top when open and have angled ends that rest when not in use on a pieces of the same wood attached closer to the front of the case; exterior of case painted green or possibly blue originally; interior of bottom and proper left side painted white.
