DescriptionBaluster type measure; double-volute thumb piece with fleur-de-lis extension in front soldered to face of cover; flat circular cover with incised circles on face; cover hinged to upper face of handle; baluster-shaped body with galleried rim and flared bade with incised circle at base forming molded edge; conventional S-scroll strap handle of narrow D-shaped section with bud terminal attached at rim and with lozenge and strut to lower section of body. "CM" in block letters stamped on face of rim to left of handle. "CO" in block letters stamped on face of rim and cover. (Unidentified)
InscribedProbable American verification marks "CM" possibly for colony or commonwealth of Massachusetts stamped on face of body below rim to left of handle and a larger "CO" possibly for county of Oxford (now Maine) stamped on upper face of cover.
