DescriptionCandlestick. Cylindrical recessed foot supports a knobbed stem that rises to a slightly blubous socket with an everted lip; a hole for candle extraction is in he side of the socket. Tin glazed in white allover, base glazed.
ProvenanceLabel from base reads: "found in a secret cupboard at Chilham Castle, Maistone. Octob...{du}ring restor..." Although holes cut into sockets of English brass candles are found, they are more common on Continental Examples.
