DescriptionCast iron trivet of triangular shape with slightly bellied sides, a swollen handle topped with twin loops, straight tapering legs, and molded edges. Central portion filled with designs including a pair of flying birds, petals, beads and geometric designs.
Label TextThe ironing of clothes by hand is as much of a chore nowadays as it was before electricity. A super-hot iron required the users undivided attention. Not only did it have to be kept perfectly clean but it had to be used carefully, or else one risked scorched cloth, burnt skin, or in the worst possible case, a house fire. A simple solution to help avoid disaster was the iron trivet, a basic stand designed to keep the hot iron above any flammable materials.
