DescriptionChild-size sugar dish decorated with neoclassical designs including central fruit and foliage decoration and narrow borders around the rim and foot. The sugar dish has a slightly domed lid and two double intertwined handles, one on each side of the dish, both terminating with foliated antefixes.
Label TextThis pattern is typical of Chinese export porcelain sold in America during the early nineteenth century. The pieces in this partial set are child-sized, rather than miniature, which supports evidence that children were instructed in proper tea-drinking etiquette.
