DescriptionKnee breeches of purple ribbed silk, matching embroidered formal or court coat. Breeches are cut high at the waist with fall front buttoned in three places, waistband buttons at center front of breeches, and separate panels stitched to waistband which button below the fall front (five buttons total.) Four suspender buttons, fabric-covered and embroidered. Buttoned pockets at sides, and a watch pocket set in the right waistband. Breeches are knee length with slim legs, ending in one-inch embroidered knee bands. Knee openings buttoned with covered buttons slightly larger than knee buttons; four buttons on each knee placket. Back of breeches gathered full in the seat, adjusting at center back with one eyelet on each side.
