MarkingsMarked in relief on back of handle "W.MITCHELL " in a rectangle for the retailer; and a pseudo hallmark of a man's bust in profile facing right in an oval [an imitation of the English duty mark] and with a pseudo hallmark of an eagle displayed in an oval. [Hollan e-1, p. 541]. The two pseudo hallmarks represent William Gale of New York City, the maker.
