One of two side chairs. Cupids bow crest rail with carved scallop shell in center and plain remaining portion ending in scrolled ears; solid fiddle-back shaped splat inserted into a shaped shoe piece which is in turn attached to the back seat rail; plain conforming stiles with slightly molded outer edge supporting crest rail and continuing downward to form back stump legs; rectangular seat, side and front seat rails have a molded upper edge with rounded front corners; the lower edge of the seat rails on the front and two sides are finished in a design of an elongated arch; side rails are mortised through back legs; the front legs are cabriole and terminate in trifed feet with a paneled anklet; original yellow pine slip seat upholstered in 18th century red Moreen.
