White metal token. Obverse: Enchained slave kneeling right, "AM I NOT A MAN AND BROTHER". Reverse: WHATSOEVER/YE WOULD THAT/MEN SHOULD DO/TO YOU, DO YE/EVEN SO TO /THEM".
Provenance:Purchased by donor from A.H. Baldwin & Sons Ltd. , London, England. The history of this particular piece is unknown, but tokens of this type, with several variations, were issued in England by The Society for the Suppression of the African Slave Trade from 1787 to 1807.
