Apron, silk, silver and gilt, basket design

OL: 16" 40" overall skirt width pleated into 9" band.
Ribbed silk embroidered with silk, silver and silver gilt metallic threads.

Short, scalloped apron of cream ribbed silk heavily embellished with multicolor silks, silver and silver-gilt in a design of two gold baskets in the two lower corners, from which grow large flower stems moving toward the center, with a large flower head enclosed in each scallop of the skirt. Pleated with small pleats to very narrow self-fabric band; replaced cotton tape ties. Stitches include satin stitch, couching and chain stitch.
