Long rectangular shawl of cream-colored fine wool, with repeated paisley shapes at each end and lengthwise narrow borders with abstract repeated figures with red predominating. Unlined.
Label:Fine cashmere or wool shawls from India and Paisley, Scotland, were especially fashionable accessories in the nineteenth century. This example is made of extremely fine, almost-sheer wool, woven and decorated in India for the export market.
