Handle of conventional downturned fiddle type with understated beveled shoulders flanking shank above bowl; relatively shallow circular bowl with plain edge and raised single drop on underside below juncture with handle.

Mark(s):Maker's touch "JO/HN/YA/TE/S" within a sequence of five rectangles on underside of handle (Cotterell 5340A; Homer and Hall, no. 46). Secondary mark "VR" in script with royal crown above within a conforming reserve on underside of handle (Cotterell 5340A; Homer and Hall, no. 46).
