This is a tied Beiderwand woven seamless coverlet in dark green, red, and orange wools with natural cotton. The coverlet is self-fringed at sides with applied fringe at bottom. The corner blocks consist of the same rectangular- formatted rose spray. A twining grapevine forms a border on all four sides but is elongated on sides and "condensed" at top and bottom. The centerfield pattern is a vertically-oriented rectangle enclosing an octagon reserve, all filled with stylized floral & foliage patterns. The rectangle is set against a field of a small overall repeat with a twining floral design surrounding it. Woven backwards and forwards across the bottom border is "LATEST + IMPROVED + P + WAR=/RANTED + M + BY + H + STAGER + MOUNT JOY."
