Damask textile woven with red silk warp and red worsted weft (very finely spun) in satin-damask weave. The design (not a full repeat) shows large conventional flowers with acanthus leaf foliage. (Color is Munsell 2.5R 3/8)
Provenance:Mr. S. W. Wolsey had marked textile "ex. Lowthor Castle".
