DescriptionBagpipes (musette de cour). Musical instrument composed of bellows, bag, chanter and drones. Trapezoidal bellows, edged with metallic tape, have brass brackets and a belt with silver buckle; leather covered ribs and gussets. The bellows are attached to tear-shaped leather bag covered with silk floral and lace striped textile, trimmed with 1 3/4" green silk textile, gathered and hemmed. Turned ivory chanter with 7 finger holes and two double holes, without reed. Cylindrical ivory drones (shuttle drones) project from an ivory orifice in the center of the bag. The drones have five windways venting through side slots, regulated by sliders in dovetail grooves.
