DescriptionWooden doll with jointed limbs, forked fingers with scored nails on slim hands; glass or porcelain eyes, painted line brow, and dotted lashes; wig of human ash-blonde hair in curls. Face and body are gessoed and tinted flesh color. Torso has high bust, slim waist, shaped buttocks; legs are long (12") with shaped calves and ankles; feet have scored toes and toenails.

Note: Clothing is cataloged separately as 1966-170. Doll's gown is made of pale blue ribbed silk moire, designed with sack back, narrow robings, double sleeve flounces and lace ruffles. Gown skirt has open front trimmed with ruched ribbon in an undulating pattern from waist to hem. The skirt can be looped up "Polanaise" fashion to form puffs at sides using strings and buttons stitched at the sides. Open front bodice shows stomacher covered with silk gauze. A cream silk satin gown petticoat with ribbon trim at front and quilting at back is visible beneath gown skirt.
Note: other doll clothing consists of two additional under petticoats (one dimity and one woven or Marseilles quilting), a woven quilted pocket, shift, stays, and shoes. The straw hat and stockings are not original.
