DescriptionWave rim plate. Moulded edges and engraved crest.
Label TextThese plates are from the same service and appear to be half of the forty-four plates sold at auction in 1970, along with a pair of circular dishes and seven oval dishes in four sizes. The pair of dishes (1972-416, 1-2) are from the same service.
InscribedAn unidentified crest of a tower with a fleur-de-lis issuing from its battlement on a wreath bar engraved on the face of each rim.
MarkingsTouch mark the Prince of Wales feathers with royal crown above framed by "THOMAS" and ":CHAMBERLAIN" within curved reserves above and below on underside of each rim (Cotterell 873). Secondary mark a label "CHAMBERLAIN" within an oblong rectangle with beaded upper and lower edges on underside of each rim opposite touch mark (Cotterell 873).
