DescriptionKnee breeches made of white linen and cotton woven in a stripe effect, called "dimity". Buttoned waistband. Narrow fall front covers buttoned opening at front; pockets at each side are buttoned closed; small watch pocket at right front set into waistband. Legs open with 4 buttons above the narrow band designed for a buckle (now buttoned). Waistband, lined with white linen, has v-shaped opening at center back for lacing to fit. Rear is full and gathered into the waistband. Breeches are unlined, except for waistband and fall. Constructed with back stitches, with raw edges overcast or whipped. Linen sewing thread.
