DescriptionCap for infant child of white cotton embroidered with white linen threads and cord quilted in a design of floral sprigs and vines with drawn work fillings worked in the linen backing fabric and visible through holes cut in the top fabric. Cap is constructed of 3 panels. Embroidery stitches include backstitch, dot stitches with threads carried on the back, and buttonhole stitches. Raised cord quilted areas are stuffed with cotton.MarkingsM or W stitched into lining with blue thread.
