DescriptionPlow plane of standard rectangular shape with an adjustable fence the length of the body. The lower edge of the discharge side is rabbeted for the iron skate and it is secured to the body with four iron rivets. The fence has two square arms set into dados secured with riveted iron pins and square washers at the top, the arms run through mortises in the plane body, secured with a broken key (wedge) and missing its other key. A decorative cove molding is on the underside of the fence and the inner top edge is rabbeted to receive the plane body. The top and side edges of body have flat chamfers that terminate with lamb’s tongue cuts on the far side and stop at the cove molding above the skate on the discharge side. Fitted with a sharpened iron and wedge with a slightly relieved rounded finial and simple single curve notch.
