DescriptionLarge lead-glazed earthenware jug with a yellow ground, decorated with eleven different black transfer prints, which have been colored with red, black, blue, and ochre enamel colors. Five of the prints are duplicated on the jug. Prints include 1) boys wrestling (appears twice); 2) landscape scene with farmhouse; 3) pastoral scene with a man and cows being milked (appears twice); 4) masonic images including a figure holding a cross and a book (appears twice); 5) a woman sitting beneath a willow tree; 6) arms of the Moderns Grand Lodge with additional masonic images (appears twice); 7) horse racing scene; 8) woman under a willow tree with a verse from Alexander Pope's poem Windsor Forest beneath the image (appears twice); 9) Emblem of Faith - a figure under a tree in front of a plinth that appears to hold a stone tablet; 10) man and woman in a pastoral landscape with a cottage and cows; 11) mother with three children most likely symbolizing charity.
