DescriptionSheep skin apron back in cotton with cotton ties. The apron was originally edged with blue silk pleated ribbon which is now nearly completely missing or faded to white. Under the flap of the apron is inscribed in ink: "Edmund Chase, Raised in Saint John's Lodge, Newburyport, Mass. April 11, 1808."The apron has common masonic emblems including the square and compass, beehive, blazing star, hour glass and scythe, all seeing eye, trowel, level, plumb, and opened bible.
