Label TextFrom atlas by Pieter Goos, "De Zee Atlas ofte Water-Weerel" which was the most commercially successful of the seventeenth-century Dutch sea atlases. The northeastern portion of the map is identified as Niew Nederlandt (New Netherland) despite the English claim to the area after 1664.
