Label TextThis engraving was part of Mark Catesby’s publication ‘Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands” which was published between 1731-43. Unlike prints that were published as part of that work, this print is trimmed and uncolored. It is part of a set of prints that are annotated with handwritten notes in naturalist George Edwards’ hand. Edwards was Catesby's protégé and collaborator on the project.
