DescriptionPair of shoe buckles: Two silver and paste man's shoe buckles, each with an arched oval silver frame set with forty graduated and faceted oval glass or paste stones. Each buckle with a steel D-shaped double-toothed chape and a two-prong steel fluke with double central arch, both attached to a central steel cross pin.
Label TextThis pair of shoe buckles have a history of ownership by Nelson Berkley (1733-1794), who built Airwell in Hanover County, Virginia. The shoe buckles descended through the family to the donor, Miss Lucy Burwell Young.
